Julius Maada Bio of the opposition SLPP has been elected president, but was unable to win control of the country’s parliament – the legislature.
In 2013 the Constitution of Sierra Leone which required those vying for the Speakership to have been retired Judges who had served in both the High and Supreme Courts of Sierra Leone, was amended by an Act of parliament.
Men were allowed at the opening ceremony but the rest of the event was a female-only affair as models were not dressed in traditional abayas. The fashions that graced the runway were the type Saudi women might wear in private. In public they usually don a black, loose-fitting, floor-length cloak called an abaya.
Layla Issa Abuzaid, country director for Saudi Arabia at the Arab Fashion Council, said when the project was announced: “The first Arab Fashion Week in Riyadh will be more than a world-class event. It is a catalyst through which we believe the fashion sector will lead other economic sectors such as tourism, hospitality, travel and trade.”
Back in 2012, singer-songwriter Tulisa Contostavlos co-wrote Britney Spears’ hit “Scream & Shout” with will.i.am. The futuristic electro-pop banger quickly went number 1 in the U.K., making it Spears’ first #1 there in a decade, Noisey writes. But while will.i.am. was featured on the track and credited as a writer, Contostavlos never received credit or monetary compensation.
The track, which was originally titled “I Don’t Give A F**k,” was reportedly meant to be released on Contostavlos’ album The Female Boss. Instead, it was given to Spears. Will.i.am, Jef Martens, and Jean Baptiste were listed as songwriters. It’s hard not to speculate on an alternative reality where Constostavlos was the face of such a massive hit. Would the song not have been as big? Or would she have been catapulted from relative obscurity into mega stardom and an eventual Vegas residency? Unfortunately for her and us, we can never know.
But now, after winning a law suit she started 5 years ago, Contostavlos is finally getting the recognition she deserves. The case found that her vocals were still on the track, and has awarded her credit and 10% of world wide publishing rights and income for the song.

It has been discovered that Iranian soccer officials filled the women’s soccer team with eight big, strong, fast men.
Iranian soccer officials are accused of taking advantage of a sports policy which allows biological men to play on women’s teams if they believe they are women trapped in men’s bodies.
This policy was announced by the International Olympic Committee and allows men to participate in Olympic events without undergoing sex change procedures.
When the policy was announced, people worried that some countries would take advantage of the policies and replace their female athletes with men and just as feared, it happened, starting with Iran.
Iranian official, Mojtabi Sharifi, admitted that the men were waiting for sex change operations.
Reacting to this, soccer authorities have ordered that all 8 men undergo gender testing to determine their levels of testosterone. This isn’t the first time the Iranian women’s team has fielded men. There were rumors that the players were men in 2011 and random gender checks in 2014 revealed some of the supposed women were men.
The problem is complicated by the Iranian culture which prohibits women from traveling unless they are given permission by their husbands or fathers. For example, Niloufar Ardalan who was recently prevented from accompanying the soccer team to a game in Malaysia because her husband would not allow her to travel.
