South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in has being invited by North Korea’s President

Kim Yo Jong, left, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, and South Korean President Moon Jae-in shake hands at the presidential house in Seoul, South Korea, Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018.

The letter, which was delivered by Kim’s younger sister Kim Yo Jong during a lunch meeting with South Korean President Moon Jae-in, invited Moon to visit Pyongyang at his earliest convenience, spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom told reporters, according to the Yonhap News Agency.

Moon was quoted as responding by saying, “let us make it happen by creating the necessary conditions in the future.” He also stressed the need for the communist state to resume its dialogue with the United States, Yonhap reported.

According to a tweet by the Washington Post’s Tokyo bureau chief, Ms Kim left a note at the palace expressing hope that “Pyongyang and Seoul will become closer in the heart of Koreans” and for “unification and prosperity in the near future”.

Will this meeting bring peace unification between the North and South of Korea? Fingers are crossed.
