Barcelona beat Espanyol 4-2 on penalties to win the Catalan Super Cup as they did in 2014, after stars including Ousmane Dembele and Paco Alcacer failed to shine in a goaless draw.

Alcacer wasted a huge early chance when he blasted over after being sent through on goal by Aleix Vidal, but Espanyol came into the game after that, outperforming their rivals.

Pablo Piatti almost equalised by accident, with a cross which struck the bar.

Espanyol were unlucky not to be awarded a penalty when Javi Puado was pulled back in the area by Carles Perez.
