For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 6:23 NIV

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) which means you and i aren’t perfect,we fall every now and then but God made it simple for us by giving us his only son,who came to die for us even though we don’t deserve it.Let us therefore hold on to this gift because we have nothing to loose at the end of the day.I don’t know about you,but this was the best decision I ever made.

Living in sin without repentance and accepting Jesus as Lord and Saviour will only take us to Hell.Grab this opportunity now before it is too late.

O Lord I thank you for such a wonderful gift, the best I could ever have.I thank you for sending Jesus to pay the penalty of sin in my place.Lord Jesus,at this moment I ask that you come into my life and come be the center of it all.In Jesus name I pray.Amen

Blessed Thursday to us all!!!

Ireland To hold  A Referendum,To Decide As To Whether Abortion Should Be Legalised

Irish Housing Minister, Eoghan Murphy has announced that Ireland will hold a referendum on whether abortion should be legalized on May 25.

Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar had earlier pledged to hold a vote to change the constitution, which guides the Catholic-majority country’s abortion laws, some of the strictest in the developed world.

Murphy tweeted: “I’ve just signed the order for polling day on the referendum on repealing the 8th amendment to the constitution.” The amendment places the right to life of an unborn child on equal footing with the mother’s right to life.

Ireland is among just 50 countries that allow terminations only when a woman’s life is at risk, according to the Pew Research Center. Incest or rape do not provide legal grounds for abortion in Ireland. Six other countries ban abortion under all circumstances.

Liberia: Trump Gives Liberian Immigrants Ultimatum To Leave US Or Face Deportation

U.S President Donald Trump is ending a program that has allowed approximately 3,600 Liberians to stay in the U.S. for over two decades, giving them one year from now to leave the country or face deportation.

It’s the latest example of Trump ending a program that’s protected tens of thousands of immigrants from various countries from deportation and kept them in the U.S. legally. It comes as the president and his allies seek to quietly but steadily change immigration in America by reversing previous presidents’ executive actions.

The program, called Deferred Enforced Departure, or DED, is for Liberians who in the past were granted what’s called Temporary Protected Status, or TPS, after the civil war in Liberia. In 2007, President George W. Bush ended TPS for Liberia, but allowed recipients already in the U.S. to apply for DED instead, an action President Barack Obama renewed throughout his two terms.

That latest renewal was set to expire on Saturday, March 31, and on Tuesday Trump gave formal notification that he is ending the program and giving recipients one year to leave the U.S. or possibly face deportation.

Trump’s decision was met with fury and anxiety by his critics and Liberian recipients’ defenders. One immigrant advocacy group called Trump’s move “harsh, cruel, and disgusting.” Many vowed not to depart without a fight.

Prince died from “exceedingly high” levels of fentanyl in his body, report says

The cause of singer Prince’s death has been revealed in a toxicology report from his autopsy.

The report shows that he had what multiple experts called an “exceedingly high” concentration of fentanyl in his body when he died, according to the Associated Press, which obtained the report.

Prince, whose full name was Prince Rogers Nelson, died on April 21, 2016, after being found unresponsive in an elevator at Paisley Park, his home and recording studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Since his death, information has emerged about his alleged abuse of prescription drugs and the toxicology report seems to confirm that.

A toxicology report from Prince’s autopsy says the concentration of fentanyl in his blood was 67.8 micrograms per liter, which is a lot, considering that fatalities have been documented in people with levels beginning at 3 micrograms per liter. The DEA said that “approximately two milligrams is a lethal dose for most non-opioid-dependent individuals.”

Fentanyl is the most powerful opioid in medicine and is prescribed to relieve pain from cancer. It can be made illicitly and is blamed for a spike in overdose deaths in the United States. It’s 25 to 50 times more potent than heroin and 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the US Drug Enforcement Administration.

A partial toxicology report previously released by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office concluded that Prince died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl.

Data Scandal: Facebook’s stock has plunged 18%, wiping out nearly $80 billion in market value

On Tuesday, Facebook shares fell by 5% following reports that CEO Mark Zuckerberg agreed to testify in front of Congress about the company’s data scandal.

The crisis began on March 16 after Facebook said it was suspending data analysis company Cambridge Analytica for allegedly harvesting data from more than 50 million Facebook users. Cambridge Analytica worked on Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Since then, Facebook’s stock has plunged 18%, wiping out nearly $80 billion from the social networking giant’s market value in the process. Zuckerberg’s net worth has fallen by about $14 billion (he is still worth $61 billion, though).

Tech stocks in general have taken a hit since the Facebook allegations first came to light. The Nasdaq is down 6%.  And other social media companies, most notably YouTube owner Google and Twitter, have both nosedived as well.

Shares of Google parent Alphabet (GOOGL) fell 7% since March 16 while Twitter has plunged 20%. Twitter (TWTR) was down 12% alone on Tuesday after noted short seller Citron Research has changed its tune on the company’s stock.

Investors worry that Facebook, Google and Twitter could all face tougher regulations in the United States and around the world because of the Cambridge Analytica controversy.  If that happens, it could stymie growth for all three companies but Facebook in particular. Investors also worry that users may flee these companies because of privacy concerns. And if users flee, advertisers may eventually jump ship too.

Former Nigerian President: Goodluck Jonathan tasks Sierra Leoneans on peace, active participation

Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged the people of Sierra Leone to be peaceful and participate actively in next Saturday’s presidential run-off, despite the change in the date of the election. Former President Goodluck Jonathan and head of Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) Election Observer Mission to Sierra Leone’s general polls on Saturday presided over his mission’s initial briefing and orientation programme in Freetown, ahead of the Wednesday 7 March 2018 polls. Pictures show Dr. Jonathan and some members of his Mission at the briefing session. The second round of the Presidential election which was initially scheduled for Tuesday 27 March was moved to Saturday 31 March following a court injunction that was lifted last Monday.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Freetown, the former President who is leading the observation team of the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) encouraged them to come out en masse, like they did during the first ballot three weeks ago to elect the next president of the country. He said: “I call on Sierra Leoneans to come out en masse on Saturday to vote in the presidential run-off, just as they did in the first round.” He advised them not to be discouraged by the court processes that necessitated the change in date, saying: “The court processes should not discourage anybody. It should not be seen from a negative perspective during elections. Democracy is built on the rule of law and it is not out of place to test such laws at any point in time in the democratic process.” The ex-President also made the point that elections, like all processes conducted by human beings, are not always perfect, noting however that very good election should pass the integrity and credibility test. “Elections are conducted among human beings. So you don’t expect a perfect system but every good election should pass the credibility test. The presidential run-off election presents Sierra Leoneans an opportunity to complete the process of electing the next President of the Republic, as the 7th March 2018 election did not produce a clear winner because none of the candidates polled 55% of votes required in article 42 of the constitution of Sierra Leone to win a first round ballot. EISA noted that Sierra Leoneans demonstrated their commitment to deepening and consolidating democracy through their high turnout (84%) and peaceful conduct during the first round of the election. It said in a statement issued last weekend: “It is our hope that the parties and candidates will remain committed to ensuring a peaceful transition in the country.” In the run-off election slated for Saturday 31st March Samura Kamara, the candidate of the party of the outgoing President Ernest Bai Koroma’s, All People’s Congress (APC) will face off against Julius Maada Bio of the Sierra Leone People’s party (SLPP), who lost to Koroma in 2012. Bio clinched 43.3 percent of votes to Kamara’s 42.7 percent in the first round of voting in an election contested by 16 Presidential candidates.

Mother Found Guilty of Strangling and Smothering her seven-year-old son

A mother has been found guilty of strangling and smothering her seven-year-old son because she feared losing him in a custody battle.

Lesley Speed, 44, faces a lifetime behind bars for killing Archie Spriggs, 7, at their Rushbury home near Church Stretton, Shropshire, on September 21, 2017, after which she tried to kill herself.

Archie was found dead on his bunk bed by Speed’s partner, Darren Jones. Jones also found Speed on the bathroom floor with self-inflicted knife wounds to her neck, arms, and wrists.

Speed, who was embroiled in a custody battle with former partner Matthew Spriggs, had denied murdering Archie. But Jones said when he found the body of Archie and Speed, she told him, “I killed him. I smothered him. I can’t put him through this.”

Mr Jones said Speed had sent him a string of disturbing text messages before the murder. In one she said: “I don’t want to be in this ****** up world.”

In other messages she added: “I really don’t want to be here. I wish we could just go to the coast and never come back or die so I don’t have to feel like this again. I feel like I am losing it and I have an overwhelming feeling I am going to lose Archie.”

Lesley also wrote chilling letters saying she would rather her little boy Archie Spriggs “be dead” than lose him to his dad, Matthew Spriggs.

Speed and Spriggs had been involved in a bitter battle for custody of the schoolboy before he was murdered by his mum last September. The court heard that charity worker Speed was concerned that Mr Spriggs would take Archie away to live with him and his new wife in Slovakia.

On the day Speed was due to come face-to-face with her ex at a family court hearing, she strangled and smothered him using a scarf and a cushion, a court heard.

A week earlier, she had penned a letter to Mr Spriggs, telling him: “I hope this pain lives with you until your dying breath.”

Speed denied the charge, claiming she found her son hanging, but yesterday, March 26, she was found guilty of murder by a jury of 10 women and two men at Birmingham Crown Court. The jurors took just over five hours to convict her of the killing.

As the forewoman delivered the unanimous finding, Speed, who was flanked by two dock officers, angrily shouted, “No, no, you’ve got it wrong. Nothing would ever make me take him out of this world.”

Mr Justice Nicol adjourned proceedings, saying he would sentence Speed today.

Genesis 21:33

‘Abraham planted a tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.’

– Sometimes we just need to pause and stop and then call on the name of the Lord.
– Abraham stopped, planted a tree, and called on God.
– Remember the Eternal God is your refuge.
– The Lord is just a prayer away and He hears us when we call on Him.

PRAYER: Lord, I want to take this moment to pause and call on You. I give You my situation and the cares and concerns that I am carrying, because You are the Eternal God in whom I can take refuge. Amen.

Have a blessed Tuesday.

The Supreme Court of Sierra Leone has today accepted a proposal from the National Electoral Commission, for voters to go to the polls on Saturday, 31 March 2018 to elect their president.

This Supreme Court endorsement comes after a High Court Judge earlier this afternoon rescinded his decision made last Saturday, ordering an injunction on preparations for presidential election that was scheduled for tomorrow Tuesday, 27 March 2018.

Although today’s High Court ruling has been declared a victory for the ruling party plaintiff , claiming that the court has granted nine out of the ten orders sought, A commentator says that: “The plaintiff did not get what he had wanted, and the judge made a big mistake in granting him orders he asked for even without a re-count of the votes,” and makes the following assessment:

Nollywood Actress: Daniella OKEKE Turns 31.

The “Catwoman”, a sexy bombshell of a nurse (care/love giver), the “pink princess”, the “denim queen”, the “golden bombshell”, “princess daisy” the flower girl or “Alice in Wonderland”, all the different roles that the sumptuously shaped actress from Imo State, who just clocked “31”, having been born March 26, 1987.

The lover of great machines, by that we mean luxury cars has not been in any production that we know of, of recent but business which we really do not know nothing about seem to have been booming magnificently in the last few years as she’s been living large, acquiring some very nice cars, which she doesn’t mind flaunting whenever possible.

One other thing that Daniella loves to flaunt a lot of the time, is her “badass shape and voluptuous front”, which if care is not taken can cause mad pile ups.

For this birthday she must have gone a whole length as the photoshoot with different costumes, hairstyles and make up touch ups, shows much was put into it for maximum impact/effect.

When people asks us the silly question on what is it that the actresses/celebs do, that earns them so much to leave the life on the roll, we answer them by just saying they do B.U.S.I.N.E.S.S & business can come in loads of ways.

José Filomeno dos Santos the son of Angola’s ex-President has been formally accused of fraud over the alleged illegal transfer of $500m

José Filomeno dos Santos the son of Angola’s ex-President has been formally accused of fraud over the alleged illegal transfer of $500m (£350m) from the central bank to the UK. He is also barred from leaving the country, deputy Attorney General Luis Benza Zanga said.

Dos Santos is the highest profile person targeted in new President João Lourenço’s anti-corruption drive. He had led oil-rich Angola’s sovereign wealth fund during his father’s rule. However, he was removed from this role in January, months after a BBC investigation into Angola’s $5bn fund and following an internal governance review.

The allegations against him relate to the $500m transferred to a British bank, which was then frozen by authorities in the UK. The UK say the money can now be returned.  Mr dos Santos was formally named a suspect in the investigation, along with the former governor of Angola’s central bank, Valter Filipe da Silva.

Mr Zanga said there was no chance of the case falling under any sort of amnesty currently being offered by the government.  “A pardon will not work… this case will run to its final outcome,” he said.

Trump Administration Orders the Expulsion Of 60 Russian Diplomats Due to Poisoning Of Former Russian Spy

The Trump administration on Monday 26th March, ordered the expulsion of 60 Russian intelligence and diplomatic officers in New York and Washington and the closure of the Russian consulate in Seattle in retaliation of the poisoning of a former Russian spy in Britain.

Twelve Russian diplomats at the United Nations in New York and 48 at the Russian embassy in Washington face expulsion by the U.S. government for what senior administration officials described as covert intelligence operations that undermine U.S. national security.

The U.S. government also is closing the Russian consulate in Seattle, which senior administration officials said they believe has served as a key outpost in Russia’s intelligence operations.

The moves announced Monday are the Trump administration’s toughest response yet to the March 4 nerve-agent attack in Salisbury by Russia that critically injured a former spy, Sergei Skripal, and his daughter, Yulia.

“This was a reckless attempt by the government to murder a British citizens and his daughter on British soil with a nerve agent,” said a senior administration official, who was only authorized to discuss the actions on the condition of anonymity. “It cannot go unanswered.”

The expulsion of 60 diplomats is the most sweeping since the Reagan administration ordered 55 diplomats out of the country in 1986.

In December 2016, the Obama administration expelled 35 suspected Russian intelligence officers in retaliation for Moscow’s interference in the U.S. presidential election.

Then last July, the Kremlin ordered the United States to cut its diplomatic staff by 755 employees in response to the passage of legislation in the U.S. Congress imposing new sanctions on Russia for its election interference.

Sierra Leone News: The Ruling Party(APC) says the National Electoral Commission Must Come Clean

As Sierra Leone’s electoral body fights for its life this morning, pressure continues to mount on its leadership to provide answers to allegations of electoral fraud and malpractice, which critics say took place at the March 7 presidential and general elections.

On Saturday the 24th, the High Court granted temporary injunction on preparations for the holding of tomorrow’s presidential election runoff between the ruling APC and the opposition SLPP, until the case is fully heard at the High Court today.

The High Court hearing was brought by a senior ruling APC party member and lawyer – Mr Ibrahim Sorie Koroma.

But according to yesterday’s statement by Julius Maada Bio – presidential candidate for the opposition SLPP, his party is quite satisfied with the arrangements made with NEC last week, to ensure the smooth running of the runoff tomorrow Tuesday, 27 March.

Rather than cry foul, the opposition SLPP is calling on the National Electoral Commission to go ahead with the election tomorrow. This is highly unprecedented in Sierra Leone’s electoral history, which is replete with instances of opposition parties complaining of ruling party electoral malpractice.

Today, the ruling APC has issued a statement, calling on the National Electoral Commissioner to come clean. They are demanding an explanation of alleged discrepancy between the election data posted by NEC on their website and the actual data used by the Commissioner for the declaration of results.

This is what the ruling APC says:

“The ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) of Sierra Leone wishes to bring to attention of the general public that the Chairman and Chief Electoral Commissioner (CEC) of the National Electoral Commission (NEC), Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh, is yet to provide the APC with an explanation over a grievous variance in two different sets of NEC Voter Registration data; disaggregated by polling centers.

“The APC on Friday 23rd March 2018, at a Data Management meeting summoned by NEC, brought out the startling fact that the list of registered voter counts per polling center, published for public consumption on the official NEC website, was at variance with another different list which the APC has now discovered is the list actually being used by Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh in undertaking his calculation of elections results.

“APC presented the facts to NEC in presence of main opposition SLPP as well as foreign diplomats and ambassadors from Britain, USA, EU and U.N. amongst others. The APC convincingly showed that the Voter Registration data which Mr. Conteh was using to make his calculations and decide on where over-voting took place, was markedly different from the Voter Registration data that had been published on the NEC website a few days prior to the elections.

“This meant that when Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh was calculating the 221 alleged over-voting centers, he was using data totally different from what he had sent to the rest of the world on his official website. The implications of this variance are huge. For example, this disparity casts suspicion on the process that could have led to such widespread numerical errors. It casts doubt on credibility of entire elections results as announced.

“Factually, many citizens and journalists around the world had downloaded the list from the NEC website showing 3,300 Polling Centers within which were shared the registered voters totaling 3,178,663 starting from 1,157 registered voters at Center ID 1001 in Kamakpodu, Constituency 001 of Kailahun District and ending in a final Center within Constituency 132 in Western Urban area.

“At the meeting on Friday were a number of journalists from major media houses like Star Media One, AYV Media Empire and Freetown TV; all invited by NEC to a special meeting called to discuss Data Management issues with APC and SLPP in presence of the international community and diplomatic corps. It had been billed as a meeting where NEC will provide answers to APC or SLPP concerns.

“However, NEC Chairman Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh and all his Directors present could not give any explanation for the worrying disparity neither could they explain how come two different Voter Registers existed; both lists had the exact same grand total of 3,178,663 but with individual polling centers listed therein, containing vastly different assigned number of voters for the same center.

“They could provide no answer to explain other than to acknowledge they had made mistakes along the line because according to them, “we had been in a rush”. No other real acceptable explanation was offered.

“Rather, the NEC Chairman N’fa Alie Conteh, appealed to the APC’s delegation who were presenting the revelations, to NOT make the disparity known to the public through the media but to instead give him and his staff “24 hours maximum” to investigate and revert back with his findings.

“This request was agreed to by the APC because the APC is willing to bend over backwards to ensure we work well with the NEC as the NEC carries out its mandate.

“However, it is now over 48 hours and approaching 72 hours since NEC promised to explain what caused two starkly different Voters Register to be in existence – but no explanation is as yet given and this SILENCE is against a backdrop of various developments going on.

“Thus, the APC has decided to bring the matter to the attention of the public alongside an image extract from the two variant tables containing lists of a sample of just the first seven Polling Centers. Out of the seven, there are five with a complete mis-match between the two lists. This type of mis-match is replicated throughout a comparison of the two variant lists.

“On the image, the first table is the one downloaded from the website and the bottom table is the one which Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh has now confessed is the one he/NEC is using to do calculations. Please compare them.

“The two-different voter counts on the two lists, speak for themselves. The burning questions include not only which list should Sierra Leoneans believe but also just how could such a grievous mistake happen?

“By bringing this very worrying information to the public domain, the APC hopes the publicity which ensues, will help in our country’s ongoing search for a credible, free, fair and transparent elections; something which has eluded us in this current electoral process to the extent of private citizens instituting lawsuits against the NEC and its Chairman.

“We also wish to inform that, to our greatest dismay, when we visited the NEC website this evening of Sunday 25th March 2018, the uploaded variant Voter Register data table per polling center, had been yanked off the website. It had been there shown live online on Friday 23rd March 2018.

“The intent is to remove the incriminating evidence. However, like many other persons around the world including journalists, the APC Team had downloaded and safely stored the now-removed Voter Register data. It is safe and sound.

“However, there are growing integrity concerns over the SILENCE with no explanation over the variance despite the 24 hours deadline, being concomitant with the abrupt removal from the NEC website of the variant Voter Register data.

“As we prepare for the Second Rounds (run-offs) of the presidential elections, the APC hopes that NEC and its Chairman, Mr. Nfa Alie Conteh, will be able to provide answers and assurances over these issues and many other concerns of citizens whilst allaying all fears and rebuilding citizens’ confidence amidst a growing lack of trust for its operations.

“To conclude, the All Peoples Congress (APC) iterates its willingness to continue to fully cooperate with NEC if NEC can ameliorate various of our concerns.”
